The vaccine helps protect against RSV infection and reduces the risk of severe illness, hospitalisation, and complications caused by this virus.
The vaccine is currently offered on the NHS if you're pregnant, aged 75 to 79, or turned 80 after 1 September 2024.
If you are not eligible through the NHS, but aged 60 or over, you can choose to be vaccinated privately at private clinics like ours.
It may not be suitable for individuals with severe allergies to vaccine ingredients. If you are unsure, please speak to your GP, or make an appointment with one of our GPs before booking.
Current evidence suggests that a single dose provides protection for at least two winter seasons. Guidance may be updated as more data becomes available.
Anyone aged 60 or over, and pregnant women, can have the vaccine.
If you are not eligible for the NHS vaccination, but aged 60 or over, you can choose to get vaccinated at private clinics like ours.
RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) is a common virus that causes cold-like symptoms in most people but can lead to serious lung infections such as pneumonia or bronchiolitis in older adults or those with underlying health conditions.
We offer two licensed RSV vaccines: Arexvy® and Abrysvo®. Both are non-live vaccines given as a single injection.
Most people tolerate the vaccine well. The most common side effects are soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or headache. These usually settle within a day or two. Serious side effects are very rare.
