Why is flu vaccination different this year?
This year, the JCVI recommended a late change to the flu strains included in UK vaccines. While many vaccines are now available, this delayed production of Vaxigrip, the lower-cost vaccine widely used in the private market. It would normally be available by now but is currently not expected until late November.
We have sourced vaccines from manufacturers who were able to respond to the updated recommendations more quickly, allowing us to vaccinate now. Unfortunately, these vaccines cost more.
Save when you have vaccines together
If you are due more than one seasonal vaccine, you can have them at the same appointment and benefit from our discounted combination prices. As well as saving money, having eligible vaccines together means fewer appointments and helps get your winter protection sorted in one visit.
