A blood test measuring cortisol and DHEA-S to assess adrenal hormone production.
£115
Results in 2–4 working days
This assessment measures two hormones produced by the adrenal glands: cortisol and dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEA-S). These hormones play important roles in metabolism, immune function, energy regulation and the body's response to physical stress. The test may be helpful when investigating selected hormonal symptoms as part of a wider clinical assessment.

Attend your appointment and one of our experienced nurses or phlebotomists will collect your blood sample. If your test also includes another sample, such as urine or stool, we will provide the necessary collection kit and clear instructions.
Results are typically available within Same day. Some individual markers may take longer if they require specialist laboratory processing. We will normally wait until the full profile is complete before issuing your reviewed results.
Fasting is not usually required, but timing is important because cortisol changes naturally throughout the day. Unless your clinician has requested a different time, a morning sample—typically between 8:00 am and 10:00 am—is usually preferred.
This test may be particularly useful for: Fatigue; Hormonal assessment; Suspected adrenal disorders; Endocrine assessment.
This test is commonly chosen when investigating: Fatigue; Weakness; Unexplained weight change; Hormonal symptoms. Blood tests are only one part of an assessment, and results should be considered alongside your symptoms and medical history.
This test may help assess or investigate: Adrenal hormone abnormalities; Cortisol abnormalities; DHEA-S abnormalities. An abnormal result does not necessarily confirm a diagnosis, but it may help guide further assessment.
This profile includes: Cortisol; Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulphate (DHEA-S).
