Attend your appointment and one of our experienced nurses or phlebotomists will collect your blood sample. If your test also includes another sample, such as urine or stool, we will provide the necessary collection kit and clear instructions.
Your ovulation blood test is usually best performed around 7 days before your next expected period. For women with a regular 28-day cycle, this is typically Day 21, which is why it is sometimes referred to as a "Day 21" blood test.
If your cycles are longer or shorter than 28 days, the ideal timing will be different. As a guide, aim to have your blood test approximately 7 days before your next period is due, rather than on a specific day of your cycle.
If you have irregular periods or are unsure when to book your test, please consult your doctor first for advice.
Results are typically available within Same day. Some individual markers may take longer if they require specialist laboratory processing. We will normally wait until the full profile is complete before issuing your reviewed results.
