A laboratory urine culture to identify urinary tract infections and determine which antibiotics are most likely to be effective.
£100
Results in 2–4 working days
If a urinary tract infection is suspected, a urine culture is the most accurate way of identifying the bacteria responsible. The laboratory will grow any bacteria present in the urine and, where appropriate, test which antibiotics are most likely to be effective. This investigation is particularly useful for persistent, recurrent or complicated urinary tract infections, or when initial treatment has not been successful.
